I am writing to you in support of Sandeep Pisharody for the Concord School Committee. I have known Sandeep for over 10 years, since he was an intern at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. In that time I have had the first hand opportunity to see Sandeep’s commitment to excellence in all of his endeavours. In our time sharing an office at the lab, we often discussed his views on many topics, including education and a desire to see improvements in many areas, ranging from a focus on STEM, to diversity, to his appreciation of the arts.
Sandeep’s background growing up in multiple countries overseas, with educational experiences both inside and outside the US, allows a critical perspective and complex understanding of the strengths and weaknesses, afforded by our schools. Working at Lincoln to analyze complex systems, has propelled Sandeep to a leadership role within the laboratory, where his efforts focus on improving the laboratory, especially making our organization synergize across our disciplines and divisions.
Sandeep has on many occasions expressed how he would like to critical thinking to form a foundation for education to build upon. One of the areas that we at Lincoln clearly observe, is the critical pace of change and how today’s children will have to contest that dynamic change. While, current education provides a solid platform for most, having and emphasizing critical thought and adaptability will be ever more important in the days ahead.
Whether it’s through sports, classic education, reasoning fundamentals or simply by getting to know him, Sandeep is someone whose impact is direct and immediate.
I strongly recommend Sandeep to the Concord community for School Board. He brings tremendous leadership and commitment to the community, on top of being a tremendous person, and friend.
